One of the leading American stage actors of his generation, now in his sixties, he has lost his magic, his talent and his assurance. His Falstaff and Peer Gynt and Vanya, all his great roles, "are melted into air, into thin air". When he goes on stage he feels like a lunatic and looks like an idiot. His confidence in his powers has drained away; he imagines people laughing at him; he can no longer pretend to be someone else. "Something fundamental has vanished". His wife has gone, his audience has left him, his agent can"t persuade him to make a comeback. Into this shattering account of inexplicable and terrifying self-evacuation bursts a counterplot of unusual erotic desire, a consolation for the bereft life so risky and aberrant that it points not towards comfort and gratification but to a yet darker and more shocking end.

短评（1）锡尔斯玛利亚、星图、鸟人外加这部，这年头文艺片比漫威还套路化，小圈子的自怜自恋该适可而止了。帕西诺挺好这口，紧接着又拍了个同题材但更主流一些的丹尼科林斯（预告片恶心到一定程度了）

短评（2）看过鸟人以后看这部，戏剧张力完全不同。其实是关于老龄化的，只是选的舞台前的工作性质主人公。里面跟小年轻的部分挺有意思，感觉他就是选了一个幻想中最可以拯救自己的对象，一个年轻的为了他“改正了16年的错误”，嗯，还是性取向这种错误。片子有意思的点很多，但都蛮点到即止。

短评（3）無聊，完全是為了滿足帕西諾老同志的表現欲。你們是拍電影，能不能不只是說吵個不停！和三心二意一樣攝影特別愛在對話雙方快速移動切換，你們這麼搞並不是用紀錄片的方法拍攝劇情片好不好！
